A major search operation was launched before barman Ilias Tsavaris, 38, found the body of the British presenter on rocky ground.
It was just a 30 minute walk from where Dr Mosley was last seen and close to a dangerous cave complex known to locals as “The Abyss”.
For five days, he seemingly disappeared without a trace, prompting a major search operation involving helicopters, divers, firefighters, dogs, and drones.
Now, Michael is to be honoured across multiple BBC schedules on a special dedicated day.
In his memory, the corporation will put on the ‘Just One Thing Day’, named after Michael’s popular Radio 4 podcast.
The audio show saw the health expert reveal his special tips to improve the health of listeners.
He was renowned for his simple, quick, and scientifically proven tricks to help his audience make a lasting change to their lives.
On the programme, he usually tested out one thing himself as he asked for participation and feedback from his loyal fans and followers.
On July 12, BBC Radio 4’s Today will kick off the extensive tribute as they invite guests onto the programme whose lives were changed as a result of his advice.
Anita Rani, 46, will later reflect on Michael’s impact on her own life as she focuses on the benefits that were gained by exercise.
Topics of Just One Thing, such as consumption of oily fish, and the benefits of turmeric will be showcased on The Food Programme.
This is whilst Evan Davies is set to experiment with waking up with a cold shower on PM.
Meanwhile, Front Row will explore how listening to music or playing an instrument could bring a sense of calm to one’s life.
Other personalities such as Tina Daheley from Radio 2, and Craig Charles from Radio 6 Music will also mark the occasion.
Alongside Radio 1, they will both do one thing in a bid to help improve their personal wellbeing in line with the day’s theme.
The former This Morning star was also notable for his appearances on The One Show and Morning Live.
Both TV programmes will air various features to commemorate the incredible legacy of the TV expert.
Mohit Bakaya, director of speech and controller of BBC Radio 4 and 4 Extra gushed over the legacy of the on-air presenter.
He explained: “Michael’s broadcasting changed people’s lives. His Radio 4 podcast inspired so many to take up small, everyday things to improve their health and well-being.
“So we thought it would be fitting to dedicate a day to the impact he had on people’s lives and celebrate his legacy within broadcasting and beyond.”
Mr Bakaya added: “He was a hugely well-liked and widely admired colleague within radio and TV, so it is no surprise that so many programmes across the BBC have been keen to share their support for Michael as part of Just One Thing Day.
“I hope audiences will be similarly inspired to join us to do ‘Just One Thing’ in memory of Michael.”
Just One Thing Day takes place across the BBC on Friday July 12.
