EASTENDERS fans have been calling on bosses to axe one of the soap’s teens following a cringe-inducing scene.
Viewers of the BBC One soap were left unhappy with Denzel Danes after he bizarrely branded his father a “beta male” in a furious outburst.
Denzel was exposed as being the person who gave Nugget Gulati the steroids which ended up sending him to hospital with kidney failure.
Although Nugget opted to keep quiet about where the steroids had come from, Denzel soon confessed to Nugget’s father Ravi that they had been using them.
Ravi was left furious at the revelation and a row in the hospital corridor’s soon ensured.
Later, Denzel’s father Howie was left sick at the revelation that his son was a regular user of steroids.
Having already endured one screaming match, Denzel was soon left facing off in a full-blown row with his dad about masculinity as he blasted his father for not using the gym or being a “real man”.
As Howie insisted he must head to A&E to check that he was okay after his consistent drug use, Denzel fired back: “And you think I’m taking some advice from some beta male?”
It appeared Denzel was criticising his father for not being the alpha-male type that he had his eye on.
Irate, Denzel continued: “You ain’t never stepped in a gym in your whole life and now you are trying to tell me?!”
As Patrick Trueman asked him to show respect, Denzel quipped: “Respect? No no I respect real men, and he is not one of them.
“You’re weak, you’re lazy and you’re stupid.
“Why do you all think I go to the gym? Why? Cuz I don’t want to end up like a loser like him!”
In a crushing final blow, Denzel spat at his father: “I’m embarrassed to have you as a dad.”
Many fans however were left squirming at the scene’s and Denzel’s choice of words, particularly “beta male”.
As the episode played out on-screen, one fan penned: “I’m screaming ‘beta male’ wtf??.”
Someone else blasted Denzel as they stated: “He needs to sit down and shut up and stop acting like a big man all because he’s on steroids.”
Another insisted the only possible way out was axing his character as they pleaded: “They need to write him OUT!”
A fourth said: “Cringe! Howie didn’t deserve this.”
Whilst a fifth wrote: “Since when did EastEnders allow roadman wannabes run the square?”
