A 45-year-old woman has revealed the three things she swears by for a forehead free from fine lines and wrinkles (stock image)[/caption]She shared her anti-aging tips on Reddit’s 45 Plus Skincare forum, which has over 34,000 members.
She said Botox eliminates lines entirely but she prefers hers just “mellowed” so she can make facial expressions.
“So here’s my trifecta: Microneedling (electric machine at home) monthly with peptides/HA [hyaluronic acid],” she said, writing under the handle Jitzgrrl.
“And face taping each night for ‘forced relaxation’ + a shaggy bangs kinda hairstyle.
“When I wake up, my forehead and 11s are smooth.
“It stays minimal until later afternoon or evening, depending on how heavily I emote through the day.”
The woman said her routine isn’t “perfect” but her skin is impressively better than when she did nothing.
She said trying retinol didn’t reduce her fine lines and only made her skin shiny.
However, staying well hydrated makes a noticeable difference.
Many people upvoted the post to show that they were grateful for the beauty advice.
According to Healthline, microneedling boosts collagen production by using tiny needles to create “micro-punctures” in the skin.
The treatment which takes about 30 minutes can leave skin firmer, smooth, and improve the overall tone.
While Botox targets the forming of wrinkles and prevents muscles from contracting, microneedling targets hypigmentation and elasticity.
Face taping provides “short-lived” results when used to banish fine lines and wrinkles.
Plastic surgeon Martin Newman MD told the Cleveland Clinic that the signs of aging return after the tape is removed.
He said the method can also be risky causing skin irritation, blisters, scarring, and allergic reactions.

Dr. Newman said cosmetic injections, dermal fillers, and laser treatments are alternative solutions for making skin appear smooth.
This comes after another Redditor said they turned to face-taping to cut the cost of paying for Botox.
They achieved their desired results using medical-grade tape nightly.
Posting under the handle Dr_Clamstradamus on the 45 Plus Skincare forum, they said it takes “time and consistency” to diminish wrinkles.
They wait up to 20 minutes for moisturizer to settle into their skin before applying the tape to most of their forehead.
