Thanks to Smiggle’s mega offer, the five piece set is only £25[/caption]

And you’ll be shocked to know that this deal isn’t from a popular supermarket or high-end chain, in fact, it’s actually from a high-street kids shop loved by Kate Middleton.

Back in 2021, as reported by The Mirror, Princess Kate was spotted taking George, Charlotte and Louis stationery shopping during a family day out.

Kate and her royal trio popped into Smiggle on King’s Road in London, ahead of the older Cambridge kids return to school after the Easter Holidays.

Fellow shoppers claimed that the children were given their own budget in the shop, and once they had picked their items, took them to the till and paid with their own money.

A Twitter user even wrote: “Just normal well brought up children and a normal parent trying to do the right thing and that’s just lovely!”

And now, shoppres are racing to get to Smiggle, eager to check out an affordable children’s deal.

One shopper was left beaming when browsing in her local Smiggle, the Australian-based retail chain that sells stationary and related accessories, when she spotted the back-to-school offer.

Thrilled with her finds, Courtney Grace took to social media to alert other parents.

Posting on Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group, a private Facebook group with 2.5 million members, the savvy mum shared a snap of her purchases and penned: “Weirdest deal on at Smiggle at the moment.

“Backpack, water bottle, lunch box and pencil case bundle £50 but if you add the sandwich box which is £5 then the whole lot becomes £25.

“So both kids kitted for next school year for £50 from Smiggle, when the original cost price should be £110.”

As advertised on the Smiggle website, the Giggle By Smiggle five piece deal was once priced at £55, but is now just £25.

Not only will it save you £30, but it will ensure that your child has everything they need for school.

Where can kids eat free or cheap this half term

FEEDING the kids this half term doesn’t need to break the bank, with a host of chain restaurants and supermarkets offering deals where kids can eat cheaply or even for free.

From completely free meals to paying just £1 a head, it’s easy to find something nutritious and in budget.

For worried parents getting slammed by the cost of living crisis, these bargains could offer a lifeline during the school break.

Sarah-Jane Outten, shopping expert at MyVoucherCodes, said: “Looking at discount and voucher websites would be my first stop – then, take a look at any deals offered via your supermarket loyalty cards or apps.

Supermarket cafes are also great places to feed your family cheaply, with various offers from children eating for £1 or eating for free, when an adult pays full price for a meal.

“Many restaurant chains will also be doing email mailshots ahead of half term to advertise any deals they currently have on offer, so don’t be too eager to delete them from your inbox.”

Here, The Sun has rounded up all the best “kids eat free” or cheap offers that are available over the half term week and beyond.

Asda’s ‘Kids Eat for £1’ deal runs in over 205 Asda Café’s all year round – not just during the school holidays.

Kids eat free at Bella Italia every Thursday and for £1 between 4-6pm, Sunday to Wednesday.

Kids can eat for free at BrewDog over half term from May 25 to June 2, with everything from DIY pizzas to cheese toasties included.

Dobbies garden centre is offering one free kids’ meal or breakfast per adult traditional or vegetarian breakfast or main course lunch purchased.

If you’re visiting a Dunelm, kids can eat for free in the Pausa cafés when an adult spends £4. There’s no discount code required, and the promotion should be added automatically to your bill.

At Gordon Ramsay restaurants, kids eat free when ordering a main from the Ramsay kids’ menu. You also have the option to add a dessert for £3.50.

Kids eat free at Morrisons all day, every day when you purchase an adult meal with a value of £4.50 or more.

Kids eat free when an adult orders a full Premier Inn Breakfast or a Meal Deal.

You can get one children’s hot main meal or lunch bag for £1 with the purchase of an adult hot main meal costing at least £5.20 in Sainsburys cafés.

At Tesco, children can choose a sandwich, a piece of fruit, two snacks and a drink free with any adult purchase in a Tesco Café, when the Kids Eat Free offer is available.

It is available in five different patterns – so whether your little darling loves pink, or your youngster is obsessed with blue, there’s plenty of cool prints to choose from.

The bundle includes a backpack, lunchbox, plastic drink bottle, handy pencil case and a sandwich container.

As a result, this set will ensure that your little one is looking cool for school, and is sure to keep their belongings organised.

The best selling backpack has all the essential features needed for school, sports, travel and more.

It’s padded and has adjustable straps, two zipped compartments and even a drink bottle sleeve.

Best Free Rainy Day Ideas

Mum's were quick to share their top tips, here's what parents kept reccomending

  • Let the kids get their energy out by having a puddle walk to splash about in
  • Day time baths with lots of toys
  • Den-building
  • Baking sweet treats
  • Arts and crafts

Meanwhile, the lunchbox is sure to keep snacks cool, and it’s compact and super easy to carry.

At the same time, the drink bottle is BPA free and has a super easy flip top spout for on-the-move hydration.

The zipped compartment pencil case keeps all stationery sorted in one place for quick grab and go use.

And finally, you can say goodbye to squished sandwiches thanks to the useful sandwich container that is lightweight and dishwasher safe.

Why do schools have such strict rules about appearance?

WHY is it that students aren't allowed dyed hair, painted nails, tattoos or piercings at school? Surely they should be allowed to express their individuality?

Well, according to Quora, there are five main reasons that such appearance alterations are banned in school.

1. Maintaining a professional appearance

Students are required to stick to the uniform policy in order to present themselves in a professional manner. Doing so helps create a sense of discipline and respect for the learning environment.

2. Safety concerns

In some situations, there could be safety concerns about an appearance change. This would be applicable if someone was to have extremely long hair that wasn’t tied up, for example, as it could get caught in equipment during PE lessons or while playing with friends.

3. Minimising disruption

Many schools have a strict policy regarding students’ appearance in a bid to minimise disruption. Some education centres believe that someone having brightly-coloured dyed hair, or a large piercing, ends up being a distraction to other students, and therefore detracts from the learning process.

4. Preparation for the work place

Many jobs – especially corporate or medical ones – have strict rules regarding appearance, with piercings, tattoos and dyed hair all on the banned list. So preventing the students from having these alterations at schools means they’ll be prepared for not being allowed them when they’ve got a job too.

5. Cultural/social norms

Schools may seek to reflect the norms of what’s considered appropriate or acceptable in different cultures and communities in their policies.

PARENTS BEAM

Courtney’s post has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it was shared just 16 hours ago, but has quickly amassed 161 likes and 212 comments.

Social media users were impressed with the bargain bundle deal and many took to the comments to express this.

One person said: “Great price.”

Another added: “Wow, a bargain.”

A third commented: “May have to pop in after school in the morning.”

Need to have a look

Meanwhile, one happy shopper beamed: “Thank you for posting this! My two picked the exact same bags as this and now we’re kitted out ready for the next school year.”

At the same time, many parents tagged their friends and loved ones in the comments to alert them to the epic bundle deal.

One user mentioned a parent and wrote: “We have to go!”

Another alerted a Smiggle fan and advised: “Need to have a look.”

Whilst someone else tagged a Facebook user and claimed: “This is good for next year.”
