New Delhi: The triumphant Indian cricket team returns home on Thursday after being stranded in Barbados due to Hurricane Beryl. This comes following their victory over South Africa in the final on Saturday.
The team is set to land in New Delhi in the early hours of Thursday and will attend a breakfast hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Following the breakfast, they will participate in an open-top bus parade from the National Centre for Performing Arts in Nariman Point to the iconic Wankhede Stadium in the evening.
Both captain Rohit Sharma and BCCI Secretary Jay Shah tweeted from their respective handles, urging fans to join in this historic event. The last time a parade of this magnitude occurred was in 2007 when MS Dhoni led India to their first T20 World Cup title.
