BILLY Mitchell is left broken after his dad Stevie reveals the harrowing truth about his mum in EastEnders.
Billy (Perry Fenwick) got a huge shock when his estranged father arrived in Walford a few months ago.
Despite Billy initially wanting nothing to do with his dad – who virtually abandoned him when he was a youngster – Stevie persevered and the pair had started to form a fragile bond.
However, that was blown apart last week at the arrival of Stevie’s secret second family; son Teddy – Billy’s half-brother – and his children Harry and Barney.
Billy was crestfallen to learn his dad had been present in their lives when he hadn’t been in his, but he was once again persuaded to give his old man a chance.
Unfortunately, that still isn’t the end of the family revelations for Billy, as in upcoming spoilers, he finally discovers what happened to his mum.
When Teddy and Co arrived, Stevie told Billy that his brother had been the product of a fling.
But out of earshot, Teddy asked: “Why’d you tell him Mum was just a fling?
“Look, I love you Dad, no matter what. But whatever you’re hiding, it’ll come out in the end.”
In the upcoming EastEnders scenes, Billy decides to throw a surprise party for Stevie in The Vic and explains to Will that Stevie and his long-lost mum, Val, shared the same birthday and that he doesn’t know where his mum is living.
At the café, Teddy meets Stevie to give him a card and warns him to stop lying.
After overhearing them talking about keeping something from Billy, Phil is intrigued and gets Ritchie to do some digging.
At The Vic, Stevie is overjoyed to see the effort Billy and Will have gone to, and Billy gives a speech about his dad, and wishes his mum well, wherever she is.
Phil arrives and takes Stevie aside to show the evidence Ritchie has dug up on him.
Ushering Billy and Teddy back to No.18 with him and Phil, Stevie confesses to Billy that his mum is dead.
Stevie shares the tragic story of Val’s death with reeling Billy and Teddy.
