ED Davey’s latest absurd stunts confirm what millions already suspect: He is the joke leader of a joke party.
The Lib Dems’ policies, often contradictory or variable depending on the audience, are a joke too.
Ed Davey’s latest absurd stunts confirm what millions already suspect: He is the joke leader of a joke party[/caption] Davey’s ‘campaign’ has been a tedious succession of It’s A Knockout-style pratfalls, including a bungee jump[/caption]And the biggest joke of all is that so many apparently intelligent voters can pick apart Tory or Labour policies in detail — but abandon all critical thinking and tick the Lib Dem box on election day, wrongly imagining they’re a reasonable compromise.
They neither know nor care what the party actually stands for.
We’re not sure its MPs or candidates do either.
Why waste energy, we suppose, finding genuine and viable solutions to our most complex problems when they’ll never be tested in Government?
Scores of seats are likely to turn Lib Dem on Thursday as middle-class people revolt against Tory rule and Brexit.
They’re not voting FOR anything. It is a protest, a tantrum. Are their votes not more precious to them than that?
Davey’s “campaign” — a tedious succession of It’s A Knockout-style pratfalls and now a bungee jump — is a concession that he is an unserious man leading an unserious party.
He knows that this time he can make a laughing stock of himself day after day and still gain seats.
What an unedifying embarrassment it is.
WHAT are the Bidens imbibing?
We’d assumed that the frail President’s family convened at Camp David at the weekend to implore him to stand down after his terrifying TV meltdown.
Voters overwhelmingly want him out.
So do even his diehard fans at the New York Times.
Yet the Bidens reportedly urged him to fight on, even absurdly blaming a lack of preparation by his aides for the debate disaster.
Except he rehearsed for nearly a week.
Donald Trump made mincemeat of him simply because, as the world and America’s enemies now know, Biden is no longer mentally fit for the White House or to win the looming election.
For the sake of the free world, Sleepy Joe’s family must wake up.
AS always seemed likely, France’s President Macron has been scuppered by his own haughty, preening arrogance.
For years he profited from sneering at Brexit Britain and the “populist” wave that brought it about — along with the election of Boris Johnson in 2019.
Now, at the snap election he called, those same Eurosceptic forces have all but annihilated the centrist, Europhile party he started.
Labour, take note.
“En Marche”, Macron called his party.
Now they’re en marching down the JobCentre.
