Amru Magomedov will make his first lightweight title defense at UAE Warriors 51.
Magomedov (7-0) takes on Ali Kabdulla (9-2-1) in the July 27 main event in Abu Dhabi, promotion officials informed MMA Junkie. The event airs on UFC Fight Pass.
Magomedov captured the vacant lightweight title this past October with a first-round submission of Jakhongir Jumaev at UAE Warriors 45. A training partner of the likes of UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev and Bellator champ Usman Nurmagomedov, Magomedov has finished his past four fights in the first round.
Kazakhstan’s Kabdulla went 2-0 under the ONE Championship banner with two finishes before dropping a unanimous decision to Makkasharip Zaynukov this past December at RCC 17. He most recently competed in a muay Thai fight earlier this month, smashing Martin Mezhlumyan’s nose in the first minute for the TKO win in the main event World League of Fighters in Bangkok, Thailand.
