Jennie Garth Shares How Her Daughter Lola Helps Motivate Her Health Routine
When Jennie Garth needs a push to move her body, she relies on her daughters — most recently 21-year-old Lola.
The Beverly Hills, 90210 alum shared an Instagram video on Thursday, in which the actress recorded her workout of the day. A personal trainer led her and Lola through a full-body strength circuit, during which they did exercises including lunges, triceps dips, single-arm cable rows, and several dynamic movements.
Garth captured moments of exhaustion during the workout, including a huff of exasperation, a silly jig, and a dramatic sweeping away of her hair at the end of the video. In her caption, the What I Like About You star wrote, “Who needs some motivation today? I know I did this morning!”
She continued, “My daughter, Lola, joined me … Do you think she’s still sure I should be working out at 7am? ???? Jokes aside, I’m so happy I got this workout in. It’s my favorite way to re-energize during the week ????”
Friends and fans adored the relatable moment, with Beverly Hills, 90210 co-star Randy Spelling — Tori Spelling‘s brother — commenting, “Get it!! ????”
At the end of her caption, Garth asked her followers when they preferred to work out, and she took the time to respond to several fans. One person wrote, “Morning!!!! I’m used up by afternoon!!! You’re making us 50ish ladies look great!!!” Garth replied, “age is just a number! We can’t be stopped ????????????”
Another follower commented, “Great work. I have to start running ????????♀️,” to which the mom of three kindly suggested, “start with just a walk 3x a week. ❤️”
Others shared their love for the mother-daughter wellness moment, with one fan writing, “Still as gorgeous as ever how cool your daughter joins you.”
Though she has a solid wellness routine now, Garth has admitted that she didn’t always treat exercise as a way to nurture her body. On a recent episode of her podcast I Choose Me with Jennie Garth, the actress shared, “It has been like a roller coaster for me, especially being in the spotlight sometimes and having to look a certain way and having people really critique things that they shouldn’t be critiquing.”
Over time, however, she’s learned to look at fitness through a healthier lens. “Every day you wake up is a new day to reset everything, basically,” Garth said. “How you want to feel, how you wanna see yourself, how you wanna see others. So a great way for me to do that is, in the mornings, to just tell myself today is gonna be a great day and tell myself that I love myself, and I’m gonna take great care of you today.”
In addition to Lola, Garth shares daughters Luca, 26, and Fiona, 17, with her ex-husband Peter Facinelli.
