Stirling Albion is delighted to announce the signing of 29-year-old, highly experienced, Slovak centre-back, Erik Šuľa.
Erik began his career in his hometown at FK Poprad, where he made 60 appearances and scored 3 goals. His impressive performances earned him a loan move to Partizán Bardejov, where he continued to showcase his defensive prowess, scoring 1 goal in 16 appearances.
Šuľa’s career then saw him move internationally to Fotbal Třinec in the Czech National Football League, making 21 appearances between 2018 and 2019.
He then returned to Slovakia, joining FC Nitra in the Fortuna Liga, where he debuted against ViOn Zlaté Moravce in October 2020. His subsequent move to Zemplín Michalovce further added to his experience in top-tier Slovak football.
In August 2022, Šuľa signed with Clyde in the Scottish League One. Over two seasons, he became a key player for Clyde, amassing 62 appearances, scoring two goals and gaining an assist too.
Speaking on the signing, manager Alan Maybury said: “Erik is a player that did well at Clyde in League 1 and adds a physicality and experience to us that only help some of the younger players.
I’m looking forward to working with Erik as we shape the squad for the new season.”
