Chelsea contact Leicester City for Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

Chelsea have contacted Leicester City over a move for midfielder Kieran Dewsbury-Hall, according to The Athletic. The Blues have expressed interest in his services but have not sent in a formal offer.

Chelsea want another midfielder and have set their sights on the 25-year-old who impressed in the Championship last term with 12 goals and 14 assists (20 big chances created) in 44 appearances.   

Dewsbury-Hall is also open to leaving his boyhood club for Stamford Bridge. Chelsea will likely have to stump a significant fee for the Nottingham-born midfielder as his contract runs till 2027.  

However, the London club has shown they are ready to shell out obscene money for players they fancy.

Chelsea believe Dewsbury-Hall is a perfect tactical fit for head coach Enzo Maresca, who worked with the midfielder last term.

The Leicester City Players’ Player of the Season can fit in as the eight in Maresca’s 4-3-3 formation alongside Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo.

Chelsea fans will be wondering what implication Dewsbury-Hall’s arrival could have on the future of Conor Gallagher.

The West Londoners have been trying to sell the 24-year-old England international for some time to balance their books, and signing Dewsbury-Hall could expedite his exit from the club.
