SKY TV customers can now get into shape for summer without leaving the house and they won’t need to spend a penny doing for the next month.
Viewers will find a brand new app on their boxes from today with access to Mvmnt.
Mvmnt has already existed on the company’s Sky Live camera tracking extra for a while but now anyone with Sky Q, Sky Glass and Sky Stream can access it.
The service is a paid-for extra but there is a free 45 day trial that should at least help people get fit for the summer.
After the trial period, a Mvmnt subscription costs £7.99 per month.
Mvmnt is home to hundreds of workouts to suit different fitness levels, starting from as little as five minutes.
These include pilates, strength training, cardio, meditation and yoga.
There are beginner-friendly options in every workout category, as well as practice sessions to master new techniques.
Celebrities trainers Faisal Abdalla and Rory Knight are among the coaches that appear in the workouts to guide members through.
“This latest launch on Sky Glass, Sky Stream and Sky Q has successfully opened up access to Mvmnt’s unrivalled coaching for millions of people, bringing them a fitness experience that supports and educates them with the coaching they need to make fitness an enjoyable part of everyday home life,” said Tim Benjamin, co-founder of Mvmnt.
“We’ve adapted some of Mvmnt’s best-loved technology for non-camera Sky devices, including our Practice Area, which allows users to master new movements before diving into a workout, personalised workout Programmes tailored to an individual’s goals.
“We’ve also introduced new features including Heart Rate Zone matching, allowing users to track and optimise workouts by connecting a wearable device, and Mobile Workouts, giving them the ability to maintain their fitness journey if away from home this Summer.”

I’ve previously tried Mvmnt via Sky Live and the camera element definitely helps check on your form, which is so important to avoid injuries or a dreaded bad back.
The selection and variety of workouts are pretty decent so I can see the appeal still even without a camera to keep an eye on you.
Just be sure you have enough space to do your workout safely.
