Naomi Campbell sat front row at Chanel’s fall couture 2024 show held during Paris Fashion Week on June 25.
The famed model stepped out for the show in a pair of vintage t-strap heels from the brand. The retro-inspired heels featured jet-black suede uppers and sturdy, thin straps forming a T shape. The shoes included adjustable buckle closures in silver and short 1- to 2-inch heels, offering the model a subtle boost in height. The designer style doesn’t seem to be in circulation any longer, at least on Chanel’s website.
However, the silhouette is available for purchase on third-party resale websites including TheRealReal, Poshmark and Vestiaire Collective, among others. The all-black heel emulates a retro style from the 1920s, commonly referred to as “strap shoes.” The T-strap design was highly popular during that period. The suede uppers modernize the silhouette, providing the footwear with a textured appearance.
Accompanying her retro-inspired footwear, Campbell wore a high-shine silver metallic sequin set. The two-piece ensemble included a cardigan with structural shoulders and ornate shiny button clasps, paired with a matching pencil skirt. She completed her look with various silver jewelry pieces.
When it comes down to footwear, Campbell’s shoe style ranges from sleek sky-high styles to practical digs. You’ll most likely find the legendary supermodel wearing flats or platform sandals — or even a sharp set of pointed-toe pumps for dressier occasions.
Known for her style, Campbell’s shoes often compliment her garments in a matching or neutral tone. Campbell is exemplary of timeless style and a wealth of fashion knowledge, making her a perfect candidate to spearhead a gala of this nature.
Campbell wasn’t the only one who got the vintage Chanel memo, either. Kerry Washington stepped out in retro glam Karl Lagerfeld pumps for the event. Other notable show attendees included Greta Gerwig, Zoey Deutch, Vanessa Paradis, Keira Knightley, Michelle Williams, Camila Morrone and Nile Rodgers, among others. They, along with other celebrities, have been spotted wearing Chanel and other designer brand shoes on the streets of Paris between events.
