A NOUGHTIES pop icon has been revealed as a surprise last-minute Glastonbury act.
The hitmaker, famous for tracks including Dream Catch Me, has let slip his late addition to the Worthy Farm festival.
A top Noughties popstar has been announced for Glastonbury[/caption] They will play the Avalon stage[/caption] Newton Faulkner made his Glastonbury reveal on X[/caption] The Dream Catch Me singer told how he was a last minute additon to the line-up[/caption]Newton Faulkner, 39, posted a graphic to his page on X showing his face and emblazoned with the words: “I am playing Glastonbury Festival 2024.”
In his image caption he made a nod to his change of summer plans and put: ” If you asked me last week if I was playing @glastonbury, I would have said sadly not.
“But if you asked me now I’d say HELL YEA, SATURDAY 21:40-22:40 ON THE AVALON STAGE!!!!!!”
One fan was quick to share in the enjoyment and wrote: “Happy days.”
A second put: “I’ve seen you live every year for the last 8 years and was starting to panic this would be the year I wouldn’t.
“Your set time fits perfectly with my Saturday plans! See you there!”
Newton has performed four times at the festival.
His first stint on the Somerset stage was in 2007, with his latest being in 2011.
Previously, fans were convinced Kasabian and Kings of Leon would be playing secret headline slots.
Fans had called out gaps in the schedule – which they reckoned was a telling sign of further add-ons to already star-studded the line-up.
One fan noted the Sex On Fire hitmakers had been re-posting their previously Glastonbury stints to social media ahead of this years event.
They then mused on X: “KoL keeping my head spinning with yet another Glastonbury video!
“Surely this must be hints or why is it just Glasto videos?!”
Kings of Leon are also performing at the British Summertime Festival in London later in the summer and quipped: “Well @KingsOfLeon… you know where you NEED to warm up that weekend!!! Glastonbury.”
It comes as the Glasto 2024 hitlist was revealed.
Dua Lipa’s Friday headline slot will be the star’s first Glastonbury appearance in seven years.
