MANCHESTER UNITED reportedly want to sign Paulo Dybala following a special request from boss Erik Ten Hag.
Roma are yet to offer the midfielder a new contract with Dybala’s cut-price £10m release clause coming into effect in July.
United have their eyes set on Dybala’s situation at Roma[/caption]United will need attacking reinforcement in this summer following a turbulent campaign that saw them finish eighth in the Premier League.
Despite recently reiterating their plan of keeping Dybala beyond this summer, Roma have yet to address Dybala’s contractual situation.
The 30-year-old’s contract is set to expire in 2025, with an option for a one year extension.
Dybala is among Ten Hag’s top targets and Old Trafford chiefs see the £10m buyout clause as a huge bargain, according to Italian media reports.
But Ten Hag’s own deal has hit a ‘complicated’ stalemate, and he is expected to have less of a say in transfers under the new Ratcliffe era.
The Argentine World Cup winner currently earns around £114k per week, according to Il Messaggero.
The Premier League is an intriguing option for Dybala, but he hasn’t pushed for a move away from the Giallorossi.
The Argentine has played most of his career as a second striker, but he has also found success operating from the right wing and defensive midfield.

Argentina’s Paulo Dybala with Cristian Romero as the team parades after winning the Qatar 2022 World Cup[/caption]The Red Devils have been linked with multiple forwards this summer and Bologna’s Joshua Zirkzee appears the priority target for the club’s hierarchy.
Dybala scored 16 goals and provided 10 assists across all competitions, despite missing 10 games with multiple niggles this last season.
He was brought on as a substitute in the 2022 Qatar World Cup final to take a penalty – which he scored.
With Lionel Messi scoring Argentina’s first penalty, Dybala was the second taker.
But despite his impressive season, he missed out on Argentina’s Copa America squad currently competing in the United States.
Instead the Argentina boss has opted to bring United’s Alejandro Garnacho on from the bench, when the side requires reinforcements.
Before Roma, Dybala starred for Juventus after signing for £30m and led the side to three domestic doubles between 2015 and 2018.
He then made the switch to Roma in 2022 on a free transfer, where he smashed Cristiano Ronaldo’s shirt sale numbers in Italy.
United and Chelsea had approached Dybala’s representatives before he made the move to Roma.
