Altra revealed its first-ever collaboration with Roa during Paris Fashion Week, a style-focused reimagining of its acclaimed Timp 5 shoe.
The collaboration, Altra explained in a statement, stems from their “shared belief in the transformative power of nature and the importance of functional design.” The result of the partnership, according to Altra, is a product “that bridges the gap between aesthetic appeal and practical performance.”
Roa, an Italian outdoor footwear brand known for its use of avant-garde materials and its fashion appeal, selected a deep brown color for the collab, which Altra described as “sophisticated” and said “draws inspiration from the earthy tones of soil. Also, the look features a Gore-Tex upper membrane, which is the first time Roa has used this material.
The Altra Timp 5, a trail runner that leans into the world of light hiking, features the brand’s FootShape design with roomy toe box and zero drop platform. Altra stated the model “is engineered for light and luxurious trail performance with added durability and bounce.”
This look is executed with Vibram Megagrip outsoles for traction on both wet and dry surfaces, as well as breathable Gore-Tex Invisible Fit liners for waterproof protection and comfort-driven Altra Ego Max midsole foam.
The Roa x Altra Timp 5 collaboration is slated for a fall-winter 2024 release, both online and at select global retailers, and will be available in men’s and women’s sizing.
