LOVE Island fans are convinced Joey Essex is a ‘producer plant’ after a shock dumping.
Viewers of the hit ITV dating show were left stunned on Sunday night as two stars were sent packing.
Tense scenes showed Omar Nyame and Tiffany Leighton being axed from the TV villa.
It came after Omar and Joey argued over Grace.
But now eagle-eyed Love Island fans have taken to social media, convinced former TOWIE star Joey was purposely ‘planted’ by bosses.
They noticed how Joey and Grace, 25, didn’t come up in conversation as the couple’s decided on who should leave the show.
One said: “If this dumping didn’t CONFIRM Joey and Grace are producer plants then nothing will. WHY were their names not brought up in the group discussion?!”
A second wrote: “The producers will do whatever it takes to keep Grace and Joey in until the finals.
“This episode confirmed that they’ll protect them at all costs and are willing to fabricate fake drama with any of the islanders to make them more accepted by the public.”
“I knew this was gonna happen. ITV will make them reach the finals by force. They probably paid a lot of money for Joey and I bet they want their moneys worth and are gonna get him to the final,” said a third.
While a fourth commented: “I knew that they weren’t gonna dump Joey and grace, it was so obvious that they were the ones with the lowest votes yet they didn’t do the dumping the next day and made us wait a few days and obviously they needed time to think of a twist.”
