England and Slovenia complete their group-stage campaign in Cologne on Tuesday evening with everything still up for grabs.
The Three Lions squandered the opportunity to secure qualification to the knockout stages with a match to spare when drawing 1-1 with Denmark in last week’s turgid affair.
The performance drew widespread criticism of Gareth Southgate’s side and the manager will hope for a robust response against Slovenia, who are 57th in FIFA’s world rankings.
England can secure a more favourable draw in the knockout phase with a victory but that could be easier said than done given their performances in the opening two Euro 2024 encounters.

Similar to the tip above, I think England will deliver a very high-energy and attacking display against Slovenia on Tuesday – though admittedly it’s tough to see after their opening Euro 2024 fixtures.
A tinker in formation and a desire to prove their critics wrong should see the Three Lions unload their frustrations on the Slovenia goal.
Slovenia have shipped 31 efforts on their goal in their opening two games against Serbia and Denmark with goalkeeper Jan Oblak making three saves in both.
With England fired up, I think the Atletico Madrid goalkeeper is on for a busy night and should be capable of making at least four saves.
This tip is will depend on Gareth Southgate’s selection, but if Jude Bellingham drops back into midfield and Anthony Gordon is chosen to maraud the left flank – then Phil Foden should get his preferred No.10 role.
The England star, 24, has scored 13 goals and provided four assists in 15 appearances playing as an attacking midfielder.
Of his four goals at international level, none have arrived as a left winger while 50% of his assists have been from central positions.
If his role changes, I expect an instant impact from Foden and that’s why a goal or assist at 11/10 looks a tempting price with William Hill.
