NEW YORK (PIX11) – New York state will start accepting applications soon for a new program designed to help families with school-aged children buy groceries this summer.
Children who already receive SNAP or free/reduced-price school meals are automatically enrolled in Summer EBT and will be notified by mail. All other families with school-aged children must apply.
Families will receive $120 per child each month of the summer. The money will be put on an EBT card that can be used at grocery stores and farmers' markets.
Applications open in both English and Spanish on July 1. To find out more about applying and if you qualify, click here.
