The police in the state of Arkansas, USA, have announced that a shooting at a supermarket resulted in the deaths of three civilians and injured ten others, including two police officers.
According to reports, this incident occurred on Friday, June 21, in the city of Fordyce, approximately 100 kilometres south of Little Rock, the capital of Arkansas.
Mike Hagar, the director of the Arkansas State Police, stated that the shooter was severely injured after being shot by police officers.
Some of the injured individuals’ condition has been reported as critical.
Previously, a shooting in North Carolina resulted in the deaths of three police officers and injured five others.
This incident comes amid an unprecedented rise in gun violence in the United States, with public places such as schools, shopping centers, churches, and street festivals increasingly becoming targets of attacks.
According to a report by the Gun Violence Archive (GVA), more than 42,000 people in the United States lost their lives to firearms and other weapons in 2023.
