A WOMAN has revealed the horrifying moment her daughter had wine chucked over her at her friend’s wedding which left her sobbing.
The mum took to social media to share the story, and shared an image of her daughter’s wedding guest dress to prove that wasn’t the cause.
She said: “My daughter attending a wedding where the mother of the bride inexplicably went up to her and dumped a glass of white wine down her dress has alarmed the women of the internet.”
In the video, her mum then showed her daughter’s dress which was a gorgeous satin floor-length gown in a sunflower yellow colour.
“Dress clearly is not white,” she said in response to those asking how the dress looked.
The mum added that her daughter didn’t react to the situation despite being left in tears.
Despite the fact the wedding took place two years ago, the bride still had no idea about the situation.
She added: “They have never told the couple because the couple are nice and they don’t want the couple to know.
“Why tell the couple your mum’s psycho? If the mum’s psycho, the daughter probably already knows it. Why embarrass them?
“I think that’s also very classy for them to sleep on this. I’m not classy for sharing it.”
But despite the situation taken place, the mum still had no idea why her daughter was attacked.
Many people came to their own conclusion, assuming her daughter looked so good the mother of the bride was scared she was upstaging the bride.
But the real reason was still a complete mystery.
The clip has since gone viral on her TikTok account @themedicarefamily with over 7 million views and 500k likes.
People were quick to share their opinions on why the drink was thrown on her daughter.
One person wrote: “Please please tell the bride. She needs to know.”
Another commented: “This has become common at some wedding when someone else purposely wears white to upstage the bride. In this case I think the Mum of bride didn’t like that she looked good and decided to do it anyway.

I’ll never forget the wedding I went to in October 2022 where a guest wore a white dress.
It was ill-fitting, knee length and looked nothing like an actual wedding dress, but that didn’t stop everyone judging her.
The rules on wedding guest outfits – which are annoyingly loads stricter for women than they are for men – are meant to be about “not upstaging the bride”, which in reality is quite hard to do on someone else’s wedding day.
But if you get it wrong as a guest, you do end up looking a bit silly, and in front of loads of people who don’t know you personally.
It’s just not the occasion for your new white dress, as much as online stores love dumping them in the ‘wedding guest’ section.
I’d avoid anything too tight/short, and ditch super formal gowns unless the dress code calls for them – you don’t want to be in a full length sequin gown at a smart casual event.
Personally I don’t like black dresses either, it isn’t a funeral.
Otherwise you should be pretty safe. Technically wearing red means you’re in love with the groom, but that’s the kind of rule most people would scoff at nowadays.
I do always check what colour the bridesmaids are in, just to be safe, after the Spanish wedding where I watched them walk down the aisle in the exact same dress I’d had in my Asos shopping basket just weeks earlier.
If in doubt, safest to just double check with the bride… but if you’re already doubting your dress that might be all the answer you need.
“She should definitely tell her friend now. The wedding is over, it won’t spoil her day at this point. Your daughter deserves an apology from the mother,” penned a third.
Meanwhile a fourth said: “Sounds like the MIL was jealous of how gorgeous the dress looked on your daughter and decided she was “upstaging” the bride or something. The only logical explanation i can think of.”
“I would have left in tears,” claimed a fifth.
“She was crying,” the mum replied.
Someone else added: “Whatever the reason for the unacceptable behaviour your daughter and her boyfriend showed great restraint and maturity.”
