Sunday marks the opening event for the Carroll County Farm Museum’s Night at the Museum Summer Concert Series.
The series will feature performances by three live bands: Technicolor Motorhome, The Fabulous Hubcaps and Johnny Seaton and Bad Behavior.
Dana Wachter, event coordinator at the Carroll County Farm Museum, said the concert series is the first of its kind at the museum. She said organizers hope to bring some familiar favorites as well as some new musicians that people have not seen perform in the area before.
“If you’ve never heard of the Carroll County Farm Museum, we’re hoping you come out and not only enjoy the music, but possibly the other types of establishments around here including local restaurants as well,” she said.
Visitors to the event can participate in a drawing to win a ticket to the museum’s 40th Maryland Wine Festival, to be held Sept. 14.
The first concert will be held Sunday, featuring Technicolor Motorhome, a Steely Dan tribute band. On July 21, The Fabulous Hubcaps, which play oldies rock ‘n roll, are on the schedule. The final concert in the series will be Aug. 11, and Johnny Seaton and Bad Behavior, playing Elvis and rockabilly tunes will perform.
The concerts will be held rain or shine at the museum, 500 S. Center St., Westminster. The gate will open at 5 p.m., and each concert will be from 6-8:45 p.m. No seating is available, so attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs or blankets. Food and drink will be available for purchase. No pets, tents, outside food or alcohol will be permitted.
Tickets can be purchased at the gate or in advance for $15 per person. Those ages 13 and younger may enter free.
