TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- A Troy man was sentenced to two years in prison for possessing a machine gun on Thursday. Court officials said Ahmed AlSaadi, 19, admitted to having three machine guns when he pleaded guilty in December.
Along with the machine guns, AlSaadi also admitted to having conversion devices and a modified Glock handgun with a machine gun conversion device, which allowed the handgun to operate like a machine gun. AlSaadi also advertised the sale of machine guns and conversion devices between March and July 2023.
In addition to his two-year prison sentence, United States District Judge Mae A. D’Agostino ordered AlSaadi to three years of probation. The FBI, the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, and the Troy Police Department investigated the case.
