TOILETS at most festivals are bad enough…without taking food poisoning into consideration.
And that hell is exactly what some fans had to endure at Download Festival after some food vendors were accused of making people ill.
Insiders told us how Environmental Health was called in to investigate as multiple people fell ill after eating on site – with one reveller telling me: “People were having to buy bags and buckets from the merchandise vans to s**t in.”
What a lovely image.
Speaking to me after they got back from the rock event in the Midlands, which saw bands including QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE, FALL OUT BOY and SUM 41 perform, they added: “I got pretty sick after eating a burger which wasn’t cooked and loads of other people I know were affected.
“The toilets were overwhelmed, and in the end people were just going to the toilet in anything they could find.
“The festival was absolutely amazing and the medics and team on site were great, but this was definitely a low point.”
You can say that again.
Fans have since taken to social media to moan about the problems, with one writing online: “I was poorly yesterday and my boyfriend today.
“We went to the medical tent and they gave us sample pots to send to environmental health. It’s ruined the festival.”
And their underwear, it seems.
