Hibernian’s 2024/25 home kit launched today after much anticipation, introduced to Hibs fans through our special ‘Game Mode’ video!
The launch video, depicting a young fan teleporting from their bedroom into the Easter Road dressing room through their games console, celebrates the mid-noughties connection the new kit has with that memorable era of the Club.
Green shorts have been introduced back to the Hibees’ kit for the upcoming campaign, harking back to the last time we wore all green during several seasons between 2004 and 2009.
The ‘Game Mode’ video gives fans a first look at the kit and depicts a young supporter, back in the day, returning from school and jumping into a football video game.
They are transported into the Hibs dressing room alongside Joe Newell, Jordan Obita, Chris Cadden and the team ahead of a big game.
Once inside the game, the viewer gets a point-of-view perspective of a Hibs player as they walk out onto the pitch at Easter Road, wearing the iconic green shirt with white sleeves - and being part of the team themselves.
The video is packed with noughties nostalgia, including props and clothing that can be spotted throughout as we pay homage to an era that holds fond memories for Hibees of a certain age.
Fans may notice special memorabilia, donated to the kit shoot by the Hibernian Historical Trust, including a pennant from Hibernian’s European game against Dnipro and a signed ball from the Hibs ‘Golden Generation’.
Flipping through a number of filming techniques, each shot was meticulously planned to create the unique, feel-good video.
Staff members and fans joined the players during the shoot, taking part as actors and extras in different roles.
The video harks back to popular football games of that era, including FIFA and Pro Evolution Soccer, as well as famous TV adverts – while Newell, Obita and Cadden join in the fun and put their acting skills to the test.
