SHE’S already been in the headlines for most of 2024 – now Lauryn Goodman is going into the next series of Celebs Go Dating.
The ex-Towie star was embroiled in a paternity scandal when it was revealed that England footballer Kyle Walker had fathered her ten-month-old son while still married to wife Annie Kilner.
Manchester City star Kyle and Annie split earlier this year but were reunited just as she revealed she was expecting their fourth child together.
Lauryn hopes she’ll be luckier in love as she becomes the late arrival on series 13 of E4’s CGD when it airs later this year.
A TV insider said: “She is quite a sensational signing for the show, not least because she now has a huge profile – and she’s one of the country’s best known singletons now.
“Almost every celeb who goes into CGD has some kind of backstory involving their private life, but Lauryn probably has one of the most sensational.
“But she won’t be getting any special treatment from the experts on the show as all the applicants get an equal hand in finding love.”
Lauryn will be guided by the ‘dating agents’ on the programme, Paul Carrick Brunson, Anna Williamson, and Dr Tara Suwinyattichaiporn.
And she’ll be joining a line-up which includes Love Islander Chris Taylor, Married at First Sight’s Ella Morgan, Made in Chelsea’s Tristan Phipps, Coronation Street’s Helen Flanagan, Gogglebox star Stephen Lustig-Webb and singer Jamelia.
It’s unlikely to be the last time we see Lauryn on our screens either.
This weekend she expected to fly out to Germany for the next England match with son Kairo so he can see his father, Kyle, on the pitch.
And she may be getting followed by a camera crew filming her every move as part of a new documentary looking at life as a Wag.
I’m sure Kyle and Annie will be thrilled.
The BBC has unveiled its new season of comedy – and no one could say it’s lacking in variety.
Among the new shows coming up is Smoggie Queens, an insight into the lives of a group of drag queens from Middlesborough, a story of a Scottish father-and-son called Only Child, and the story of a model who flees the US to escape her debts and start a new life back in London.
But perhaps the most anticipated show of all is Amandaland, a spin-off of the hugely successful Beeb comedy, Motherland.
The new six-parter features Lucy Punch reviving her role as snobby neighbour Amanda, and this time she’s joined by her even more judgmental mother Felicity played by Joanna Lumley.
Only now she has to navigate life as a divorced mum forced to downsize and move from Chiswick to live on the doorstep of Wormwood Scrubs prison.
Other stars who’ll be popping up in the season include David Morrissey and Aimee Lou Wood as a father and daughter whose worlds are turned upside down when the latter falls pregnant.
And David Mitchell will take the lead role in comedy detective series Ludwig.
Elvis actor Austin Butler could be next in line for CBeebies Bedtime Stories.
The star “auditioned” for the children’s TV series live on air while appearing on Zoe Ball’s Radio 2 breakfast show this week, saying he likes watching his fellow Hollywood stars on the show.
The series airs weekdays at 6.50pm, and sees stars read books for younger viewers.
And after A-lister Tom Hardy drew record numbers of viewers during his 17 episodes, CBeebies says it is open to Austin appearing.
An insider added: “There are plenty of exciting names coming up – as the show heads to Glastonbury this summer for a series of on-site, backstage readings.”
Actors Tom Hiddleston, Jason Momoa and David Schwimmer and musicians Dolly Parton, Ed Sheeran and Harry Styles have also featured on the show.
An ITV commissioner has hinted Startstruck could return. The ITV singing contest saw Adam Lambert and others judge impersonators. At the screening of Adam’s new documentary, Out, Loud and Proud, available on ITVX, a commissioner revealed: “Never say never.”
A League Of Their Own star Maisie Adams beat her Royal Variety jitters – by marvelling over Simon Cowell being so short.
The comic was stunned the 5ft 8in telly judge wasn’t taller when she spotted him ahead of her 2022 performance.
She told the RHLSTP podcast: “He was coming down the steps and he still had five to go. I had already gained the height advantage. It was like Beauty and the Beast.
“All I could think was, ‘You’re really small, but don’t say you’re really small’. And I couldn’t concentrate on my routine.
“All I could think was, ‘Simon Cowell is so small’.
“I’d been warned it was a tough gig, and it was, especially if you’re thrown off by someone’s height.”
Courtroom drama The Twelve will be back for more on ITV this year.
The eight-episode outing will air exclusively on ITVX, after the first series was streamed more than 26 million times, making it one of the platform’s most successful dramas to date.
It will pick up where things left off with Sam Neill as barrister Brett Colby, who is representing a new client in a complex murder trial, in front of twelve jurors.
The series set in rural Western Australia, sees local landowner and town matriarch Bernice Price, played by Kris McQuade, found dead at the bottom of her farm’s pump well.
Two of her ex lovers are accused of the crime – with the jury left to decide who is guilty.
Frances O’Connor plays lawyer Meredith Nelson-Moore. Tasma Walton and Amy Mathews also star in the second series
Wheeler Dealers expert Ant Anstead is branching out beyond cars for a new restoration show.
He has bought a 500-year-old farmhouse in Bedford for his parents and will transform it into their forever home.
Ant Anstead: The Naked Mechanic, which is currently in production, will see him get to grips with what it takes to renovate a heritage house.
Across the eight episodes, which will air this year on Quest, Ant will also buy, restore and flog old cars to generate funds for his home renovation.
Ant said: “This is a huge, scary leap for me, a reality show that shares my family and this crazy ambitious dream. Watch this space.”
