A WOMAN has revealed how she was left stunned when she found a secret USB stick in her late husband’s belongings.
Sammie’s husband Graham passed away suddenly three years ago, leaving her “absolutely devastated”.
In a video on TikTok, Sammie said they were a “very, very devoted couple” who had “no secrets” from one another.
So imagine her surprise when she came across a “secret USB stick and SIM card” in a sealed plastic bag.
She was then faced with the dilemma of whether or not she should try and find out what was on the USB stick.
“What made me feel particularly weird about this was that the USB stick actually has his initials on it, like printed on, so it’s like a special USB stick,” she added.
While Sammie stressed again that she trusted Graham “implicitly”, she also knew she “wouldn’t be able to rest personally” if she didn’t see what was on the stick.
“There was so much going on in my head, like what if there are a bunch of photos that I don’t know anything about?” she mused.
“What if he was in a relationship I didn’t know.
“And I knew by looking on this SIM card and the USB stick that I could find something that I didn’t want to see.”
But while Sammie acknowledged it was “really dangerous” to look on the USB stick, as she couldn’t then talk to Graham about what she’d found, she “couldn’t sleep” and decided she had to do it.
She then shared another video of “the result” of her discovery.
“I decided to go downstairs and put it into the computer which was the only place where I have a USB port,” she said.
“And normally when you do that, it just kind of pops up and you can open it.
“I’ve done it hundreds of times before but this just didn’t, it didn’t work.
“So I was a bit confused and eventually after trying for about half an hour thinking is it password?
“Is there something special about it? I just didn’t know what the problem was.”
She then decided to Google the serial number on the back of the USB stick, at which point she realised it was from an Xbox One.

“Indeed it wasn’t a USB stick at all!” she said.
“It was from an Xbox One and although it had his initials on it, GH, actually it turns out that stood for Guitar Hero.
“So all that worry was really for nothing and it wasn’t that I didn’t trust him because I absolutely implicitly trusted him.
“It was the fear and I’ve spoken to so many widows that this has happened to.
“It was the fear of finding something that would change my view of him.
“I was 99.9% confident I wasn’t going to find anything untoward because we were so devoted to each other.
“But it’s a scary thing!”
Sammie later shared another update, in which she revealed that her son had admitted the Xbox One Guitar Hero stick was actually his.
