Jay Blades’ The Repair Shop pulled off air mid-series in BBC schedule shake-up – and fans have no idea when it’ll return
THE Repair Shop has been pulled off air by the BBC and fans have no idea when it will return.
The beloved programme – which is fronted by Jay Blades – has been ditched from screens for at least two weeks.
Fans had been enjoying the 13th series of the restoration show on Wednesday evenings on BBC One.
But schedules reveal Jay and his expert team of craftspeople have been pulled off air.
The move by Beeb bosses is to make way for dedicated coverage of Scotland and Switzerland’s EURO 2024 match.
But the following week the show will stay off air as the BBC airs a General Election debate between Rishi Sunak and Keir Starmer.
According to BBC billing there’s a total of 25 episodes in the current series of The Repair Shop.
The Sun recently revealed how Jay, 54, was spotted back at the show’s barn after initially taking a break following his shock split from wife Lisa.
It was also revealed in April that his uncle Richard Brathwaite had been killed in another devastating blow to the star.
A source said at the time: “Jay has taken a step back and is having a break from filming The Repair Shop.
“His uncle’s death in March and the breakdown of his marriage means he has decided to take some time out.”
“The Repair Shop is carrying on without him for now and the other repairers are hard at work.”
