Heat continues with few pop-up storms for Columbus area

FORECAST DISCUSSION:
Good Tuesday evening,
It has been another day with hot temps back well above normal into the lower to middle 90s. We have seen less coverage in pop-ups today, but still have that chance before midnight tonight. Overnight skies will be mixed with clouds and temps running above normal in the middle 70s.
Wednesday expect more of the same, with more heat, clouds building by midday and a chance of afternoon to evening showers and storms, with some frequent lightning, and gusty winds possible with one or two storms and highs in the middle 90s.
Thursday the heat dome should build over our area for a 2-3 day stint and this will keep our temps in the mid to upper 90s on Thursday and Friday with mostly sunny skies. We will stay in the same temp range for Saturday, but clouds will build late, and we could squeeze out a very late day pop-up by Saturday evening.
Temps will relent a bit on Sunday as better chances of rain and storms will return with a cold front late. This will give us clouds a bit quicker, and drop highs into the lower 90s, but with a bit more humidity. I think we will have to keep an eye out for any storms late on Sunday as we could have a few gusty wind strong storms.
Behind the front, temps will drop back into the middle to upper 80s on Monday with clearing skies and drier air. Things will quickly recover back to the lower 90s by next Tuesday as more sunshine returns with drier air.
