The United States Honor Flag will make a solemn journey to Maryland to honor Agent Davis Geovanni Martinez of the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services’ Division of Parole and Probation, according to The Honor Network.
Davis was killed in the line of duty in May.
The nonprofit organization says the United States Honor Flag is a singular emblem of national pride and tribute. It has traversed the nation, paying homage to fallen military personnel, law enforcement officers, firefighters, and first responders. It has traveled aboard the final space shuttle mission, STS-135 Atlantis, and flew during recovery efforts at ground zero.
Chris Heisler, founder of the United States Honor Flag, will personally escort this symbol of honor from Orlando, Florida to Dulles International Airport (IAD) on United Airlines Flight 2065, arriving on Friday.
“We are deeply honored to bring the United States Honor Flag to Maryland to pay tribute to Agent Martinez,” said Chris Heisler. “This gesture is a heartfelt expression of gratitude for his courageous service and ultimate sacrifice.”
