Petrol pump owners in Delhi may close Pollution Under Control (PUC) centres from July 1 due to unchanged fees since 2011, causing financial strain. The Delhi Petrol Traders’ Association (DPDA) stated that escalating costs and unmet requests for fee revisions rendered operations unsustainable. With 650 centres across Delhi, the closure could impact 80 lakh vehicles, risking increased pollution and fines for non-compliance.
