Tottenham player aims dig at Arsenal and Chelsea following exit
After agreeing to terminate his contract at Tottenham, Tanguy Ndombele has taken to social media to send a touching goodbye message to Spurs fans, thanking them for their support through the years.

The 2023-24 season was arguably the worst year of Ndombele‘s career, with the midfielder struggling to get minutes on loan at Galatasaray.
The 27-year-old’s struggles in Turkey showed how far he had fallen and left Tottenham with no choice but to agree to pay off the year left in his contract.
According to various reports, Spurs had started talks with the Frenchman’s entourage over a payoff a while ago and eventually agreed to pay him around £5m to terminate the year left on his £200,000-a-week contract (Football Insider).
It was a sad way to end what has been a frustrating and disappointing five-year spell at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for Ndombele, who remains Tottenham’s club record purchase, arriving from Lyon in 2019 with a reputation as one of the best midfielders in the world.
Ndombele calls Spurs ‘the best club in London’
Despite the way his career has nosedived since signing for Spurs, Ndombele sent a classy parting message to the club and its supporters, describing the Lilywhites as ‘the best club in London’ which some fans will appreciate as a dig towards capital rivals Arsenal and Chelsea.
He wrote in his Instagram post: “End of my adventure in the best club in London. I learned a lot during my time at Tottenham.
“Thank you for the unwavering support of the supporters. I wish you all the best for the future and I know you will be extremely successful.”
Ndombele was booed off the pitch by some Tottenham Hotspur fans in his final appearance back in January 2022 when under Antonio Conte, he slowly walked off the pitch after being replaced while 1-0 down to Morecambe in the FA Cup, a match which Spurs eventually turned around to win.

While Ndombele has undoubtedly been the worst signing in Tottenham’s history, I do not see the point in taking the frustration out on him as some Spurs fans on social media appear to be doing.
The club have to take the blame for not doing sufficient background research on his attitude and personality before paying a huge fee for him back in 2019.
Whoever now takes the risk of signing Ndombele this summer will certainly have a challenge on their hands.
