The Cannon Ballers led the way with a 5-1 week, partially thanks to another offensive eruption by Ryan Galanie

This started out as another rough week for the Knights, but they brought themselves back to even by winning their last two games against Worcester. Outfielder Oscar Colás had a fantastic week, getting on base at a .471 clip, drawing three walks and only striking out twice. Colás only had one extra-base hit during the week, but given how often he was putting the bat on the ball, that did not matter. In 264 plate appearances at the highest level, Colás has struggled immensely to get on base (.256 OBP), but he just earned a promotion back to The Show thanks to his recent strong performance. Perhaps, this time, he has turned a corner.

As usual, the Barons had a positive run differential this week (+5), but surprisingly, one of the most talented White Sox Double-A teams we have ever seen had a losing week. Despite the 3-4 record that the Barons posted, pitcher Mason Adams had two excellent starts. Adams, who did enough to earn not just the Barons but our organizational Player of the Month for May even before his June 2 start, now has a 1.99 ERA this season. Adams has made a name for himself despite being part of a stacked rotation without any gaps. Bravo to the Barons rotation as a whole, but this week, Adams went above and beyond.

The Dash, who were expected to struggle quite a bit this season, are still staying afloat with another .500 week. The starting rotation had mixed results, with Pallette and Schweitzer getting great results, but it was not so easy for the others. The offense had a better week, and Bryce Willits delivered a 1.085 OPS across 20 at-bats to take the weekly award. Willits did not homer, but he hit two triples and a double while only striking out twice. Incredibly, Chris Lanzilli and Colby Smelley had even more production on a per-at-bat basis, but they fell just short in the weekly rankings due to how much Willits played by comparison.

Ryan Galanie and the Cannon Ballers are at it again. Kannapolis is on fire, leading the South division of the Carolina League by 6 1⁄2 games. On top of that, incredibly, their run differential suggests that they should be 36-14, even better than their actual record of 31-19. Once again, the Cannon Ballers had a 5-1 week, and Ryan Galanie once again led the way, launching two more home runs en route to a 1.021 OPS week. This is Galanie’s third weekly award in the past four weeks, and unsurprisingly, he also won the Cannon Ballers Player of the Month award for May. Finally, on June 4, Galanie was promoted to Winston-Salem!
