COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- A Columbus man is in custody in connection with the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old woman this past weekend.
Kenneth Hairston, 20, is charged with involuntary manslaughter and having weapons under disability in the death of Da'Mya Cummerlander. He was arrested Tuesday.
According to Columbus police, officers responded to the 2600 block of Woodsedge Road at 12:35 a.m. Sunday for a report of a shooting. At the scene, officers found Cummerlander suffering from a gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Hairston remains in custody in Franklin County Jail.
According to police, during a candlelight vigil Monday night in remembrance of Cummerlander at Krumm Park, two people were shot and killed. As of Tuesday afternoon, no suspect or victim information has been released.
