Expressing his gratitude to BJP and NDA workers as well as the “140 crore people” of the country, the PM said the result is a vindication of the ‘sabka vikas’ mantra of his government. “I would like the influencers and opinion makers to note that since 1962 this is the first time that a government has come to power for a third consecutive term. In states where assembly elections were held, NDA has won grand victories. In Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and Sikkim, Congress has lost badly and its candidates have lost their deposits in many seats,” Modi said, adding that “a new history has been created”.
