Saratoga High School’s quiz bowl team competed in the 2024 High School National Championship Tournament earlier this month.
The team competed in Atlanta May 24-26 against 320 other teams, including those from local high schools like Archbishop Mitty in San Jose and Homestead High School in Cupertino. This marked the seventh year that Saratoga’s team has reached the national round of the competition, most recently coming in fifth after making it to the playoffs in 2023.
In Quiz bowl, teams of four students use buzzers to answer questions about topics covered in school like math and history, but also topics like pop culture and sports.
Saratoga High’s team was captained by Rushil Saraf, who was joined by Akshat Bora, Alan Cai, Ryan Heshmati, Karthik Sangameswaram and Agastya Vitaldevara.
