The Election Commission has urged urban voters in urban centres to break the trend of urban apathy and attend the sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections. The Commission has previously noted that Mumbai, Thane, Nashik, and Lucknow have shown apathy towards voting and has called for high turnout in these cities. The Commission has assembled metro commissioners to develop strategies to combat urban and youth apathy, which occurs when young voters and those living in metros fail to attend polling stations on election day.
