BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) --- A student was caught bringing a loaded gun into a Brooklyn high school Thursday morning, officials said.
The weapon was spotted in the 17-year-old boy's backpack when he passed through the scanners at Westinghouse High School on Tech Place in Downtown Brooklyn at around 8: 30 a.m., according to the NYPD and School Safety Agent Union.
The gun had nine bullets in the magazine and one in the chamber, according to the union.
The student was taken into custody and charges were pending, police said.
