A man was airlifted to the hospital on Monday after falling 40 feet from a cliff in Salisbury.
The victim was brought to safety after about two hours following a rope rescue at the Great Falls, according to the Norfolk Volunteer Fire Department.
Fire officials said rope rescue teams in the region were activated after the fall. Norfolk crews were the first to have contact with the victim.
The victim was lifted up a cliff and turned over to medics, according to fire officials. He was brought via LifeStar to an area hospital.
The condition of the victim was not immediately clear.
