A FORMER I’m A Celebrity winner has blasted the show because they ‘don’t know half the people in it anymore’.
The TV star was crowned King Of The Jungle in 2007 after being paid £50,000 in order to make his appearance in the Australian Outback.
Christopher Biggins won the seventh series of the show[/caption]But Christopher Biggins thinks the time for I’m A Celeb has passed, and has called for it to be shelved by ITV.
Appearing on the My Dirty Laundry podcast, Biggins said: “I watch it now and it’s interesting, I don’t know half the people who are in it.”
“I mean, I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here is the wrong term,” he said. “And I think, you know, they should give it a rest in a way because I think it’s had its time.”
He hastened to add, “But it has been just absolutely wonderful. Of course, Ant and Dec are brilliant, and it’s a very, very clever show. I mean, it’s very clever in so many respects.”
Biggins added that after appearing on the show he “went on to earn a fortune” in appearances and opportunities.
“The only thing about it is, it is very boring because you only see one hour of our 24 hours,” he said.
“So there are endless scenes of people doing nothing, just lying around trying to make conversation with their boring housemates.
“But if you win it, it’s incredible. It changes your life, changes your career, which it certainly did with me. And it was just wonderful.”
During the chat he also admitted he found himself frequently clashing with model Janice Dickinson, branding her “awful”.
Janice and Biggins were the final two stars standing on the series before Biggins took the win.
“She was not a good loser but she’s not done anything since so I can’t complain,” he swiped.
“She was pretty awful, I can tell you.”
