A British tourist was allegedly raped by a soldier in Crete who lured her to a beach after meeting in a bar.
Police have arrested the 21-year-old suspect as he faces a persecution by military court on suspicions of sexual assault.

The suspect remains in custody in Hersonissos but he filed a counter lawsuit, claiming his innocence.
The infantryman has in turn accused the victim of false accusation and defamation.
Both were arrested and the Greek soldier was referred to the military prosecutor in Chania, on the northwest coast of the island.
The British tourist will be inspected by a medical examiner who will investigate if the rape took place.
It comes just hours after a British teenager was allegedly sexually assaulted in Majorca after having her drink spiked while on holiday.
Police have arrested a suspect and are searching for two other men who have witnessed the horrific attack and allegedly “did nothing to prevent it”.

The suspect will face the court later today and the victim was asked to ratify her statement before the judge who will decide whether the suspect will be released on bail or remanded in custody.

Just a month later, a 19-year-old Brit alleged a man drugged her with laughing gas and then sexually assaulted her in a Greek holiday hotspot.
Following a search of the man’s accommodation, a gun and 2 ampoules of laughing gas were discovered, according to Iefimerida.
The 37-year-old suspect was then arrested for violating weapons legislation and rape following the victim filing a complaint with police.
