GiveMeSport have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are now stepping up their efforts to sign Santiago Gimenez from Feyenoord after Ange Postecoglou approved the signing.
The report says that Postecoglou is keen to sign a number nine to fill the void left by Harry Kane’s departure last summer and he has pinpointed Gimenez as the player Spurs should sign.
The report says that the North London club now see the Mexican international as a ‘priority’ target and are set to begin dialogues with Feyenoord over a deal.
The outlet says that Spurs will now ‘press ahead with their interest’ in the 23-year-old and are keen to understand how much the operation would cost.
It is alleged that the Lilywhites have been watching the centre-forward closely all season and he has now been identified as the man to lead the line at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
GiveMeSport also backs up what we have heard from other sources over recent weeks by suggesting that Richarlison will be let go by Tottenham amidst interest from Saudi Arabia.
Spurs Web Opinion
I am far from sold on Gimenez as scoring loads of goals in the Eredivisie is no guarantee that a player would be able to do the same in the best league in the world. I would personally rather see Spurs pay a little extra to land Ivan Toney, who guarantees 20-plus goals in the Premier League.
