Ben Cooper to leave Bauer after four years

Bauer’s Chief Content and Music Officer Ben Cooper is leaving the company after four years.

The former BBC Radio 1 Controller will leave later this month and a successor will be announced shortly.
 
Ben joined Bauer during lockdown in 2020 played a part in evolving Greatest Hits Radio, overseeing talent signings including Ken Bruce and Jackie Brambles, and more recently Marvin Humes and Alex Scott at KISS.
 
Ben says: “I’ve had a fantastic time at Bauer winning new audiences in new ways, with record breaking listening figures, including the industry changing success of Ken Bruce and Greatest Hits Radio.
 
“It’s been a privilege to have led my talented team through a time of huge change, of renewed creative ambition, and exciting innovation, and we are in a strong position for me to hand over the baton.”

Before joining Bauer, Ben was Controller of BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 1Xtra and BBC Asian Network from 2011 to 2020. He previously worked in BBC local radio, and Capital London as an executive producer.
