'I'm no Trumper!' Ex-president's lawyer fights back as CNN host suggests he supports him
He may have legally represented Donald Trump, but the former president's ex-lawyer William Brennan angrily hit back at CNN host Jake Tapper's suggestion Monday that he believes he's innocent.
Brennan briefly locked horns with "The Lead" host Tapper when he was introduced as a member of a panel mulling his one-time client Trump's hush money on the day the prosecution's star witness Michael Cohen testified.
"We are discussing the qualities of the case," said Tapper. "So the good, the bad — there's disagreement. We do have people who are in Mr. Trump's side on this."
Brennan immediately cut in. "Whoa, whoa. whoa!" he cried.
Tapper tried to finish his sentence, saying, "On the issue of whether or not this is a good case; that's all I'm saying."
But Brennan wasn't hearing it.
"When I look at this case, there might as well be one of those things when they used to put the blue around the face — this is an American citizen on trial," he jabbed.

"And they have to tie it up to another crime and they've yet to do it," claimed Brennan. "This has nothing to do with the fact that I represented him. I'm no Trumper. I have no political agenda."
Tapper then tried to clarify what he had meant to say.
"No, no, I'm talking about your view of the quality of this case."
And Brennan reiterated, "I think they haven't made it out yet."
Tapper concurred. "That's all I'm saying."
The terse exchange took place shortly after the fourth week of trial kicked off with the prosecution lawyers questioning Cohen, Trump's former lawyer and fixer who has spent time in prison over his involvement in hush money payments to adult movie star Stormy Daniels.
Trump has pleaded not guilty to 34 counts of falsifying business records in connection to the payments, allegedly made to hide a sexual relationship.
Trump denies the affair happened.
