Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) lashed out at the judge's daughter while attending the Manhattan hush money trial to support former President Donald Trump.
Vance made the remarks despite Judge Juan Merchan's limited gag order, which prevents Trump from attacking family members of court staff or potential witnesses. The judge also said Trump could not cause other people to make similar statements.
During a break in Monday's testimony, Vance first smeared witness Michael Cohen while talking to reporters.
"This guy is a convicted felon who admitted in his testimony that he secretly recorded his former employer, that he only did it once, allegedly, and that this was supposed to help Donald Trump," Vance said. "Does any reasonable, sensible person believe anything that Michael Cohen says?"

"I don't think that they should, and I actually think that his testimony is going to hurt with any reasonable juror, and hopefully we have a few of those," he continued.
Vance then complained about the gag order preventing Trump from attacking the judge's daughter.
"Number one, the thing that the president is prevented from saying, which is a disgrace, is that every single person involved in this prosecution is practically a Democratic political operative," he opined. "The judge inside, his daughter is making millions of dollars running against Donald Trump, raising money for Donald Trump's political opponents."
"Now look, whether you love Donald Trump, whether you like Donald Trump, or whether you're a Democrat or don't care about politics, what's going on inside that courtroom is a threat to American democracy, ladies and gentlemen," he added. "So this is a disgrace, and I wanted to be here to show some support for my friend."
