SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Mohawk Harbor Event Center groundbreaking will be at 10 a.m. Monday. The arena was announced in late February.
The event center is a $50M, 97,178-square-foot arena and is a part of Schenectady's ongoing revitalization efforts. The center will feature a 2,200-seat ice hockey rink with a capacity expanding to 3,600 for trade shows, events, and conventions.
Union College has negotiated a lease to be the primary tenant at the arena. The college will contribute over 25 years to the arena to host the school’s men’s and women’s hockey games.
The event center is scheduled to be finished for Union teams to play their home games for the 2025-2026 season.
