WITH temperatures soaring across the UK this weekend, plenty of families will be looking for ways to cool off.
A family trip to the waterpark is the perfect day out on a hot day but the cost of a family ticket can be less than perfect for those on a budget.

“To combat the summer heat for half the price, we’re advising Brits to turn off the fans and to make the most of their outdoor spaces.
“Using a large piece of tough plastic and a hose can make a family-sized slip and slide to turn the outdoor area into an entertaining cooling space.”
Here are she reveals unique ways to turn your garden into a waterpark:
DIY Waterslide
This is best if your garden is on a slope, but it works great either way.
Gather some tough plastic to stretch across the space and use the hose to create a stream for the family to slide down. Opt for a race to see who can slide down the fastest.
Paddling pool
It’s the classic way to instantly cool down from the sun by getting the paddling pool out of the cupboard.
If there’s enough room available, get out some flamingo lilos and embrace the sun in style.
Water balloon fight
Get ready to be soaked. It’s the best time of the year for the kids – schools out, the sun is shining and for many kids, water balloon fights are the way to officially start the holidays.
While it’s funny and frustrating being hit by them, it’s also a great way to cool down from the heat.
The garden hose
It’s best to get creative when using the garden hose to keep cool, use the different settings to determine which spray can be used around the garden.
Put on the spray option and tie up the hose to a large pole to create a bliss waterfall in the garden.
Water buckets
The giant tipping buckets are a staple at most UK waterparks, but this can be re-created at home with a little teamwork.
Grab a large bucket or two, fill it up to the top with water and slowly dump the water to create your very own splash zone.
