According to Fox Sports, Tottenham Hotspur have not contacted Santiago Gimenez’s representatives over a summer move and will only make a move for the Mexican if they decide to sell one of their forwards.
Since Gimenez was spotted at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium during the North London Derby last Sunday, the speculation linking the 23-year-old with a move to Spurs has intensified significantly.
In fact, CalcioMercato.it claimed earlier his week that Spurs are in the front row to sign the Feyenoord star alongside AC Milan, with the report alleging that both the Premier League side and the Italian club have held conversations with the striker’s entourage.
However, this was contradicted by The Sun’s Tom Barclay who claimed on Wednesday that his sources at Tottenham have conveyed that the Eredivisie star is no longer a target for the club.
Fox Sports have now reported something similar, claiming that Ange Postecoglou’s men have not spoken to Gimenez’s representatives regarding a summer move.
The outlet says that the Feyenoord star’s entourage have held talks with the likes of Juventus, RB Leipzig and Atletico Madrid so far as they assess his next move.
The publication adds that while Tottenham are interested in Gimenez, they will only make a move for him if they sell one of their forwards first, with the Lilywhites thought to be prioritising a move for a midfielder at the moment.

I suspect that Postecoglou would prefer another versatile forward, who can operate across the front three, rather than an out-and-out number nine like Gimenez, who is not an ideal fit for the Australian’s system.
