PROFESSOR T viewers were left heartbroken after a popular character was killed off in the latest episode.
The ITV crime drama began in 2021, starring Ben Miller as Professor Jasper Tempest, a criminologist who assists the police in solving crimes.
Joining the Death in Paradise alum is actress Emma Naomi, who plays the role of DI Lisa Donckers.
Fans of the show were shocked by the series three finale which saw Lisa run down by Leah Vermorel (Flora Montgomery) and tragically dying.
Further adding to the sadness, Lisa had just gotten engaged to Dan Winters (Barney White).
Although Dan rushed to the scene of the crime, he was too late as the impact of the car proved too much for Lisa to handle.
Heartbroken over the loss of Lisa, Dan sobbed as he held her in his arms while Professor Tempest also found it difficult to hold himself together.
Heartbroken fans also took to social media to share their shock over Lisa’s death.
One wrote: “#ProfessorT I can’t believe Donkers was killed in last episode.Really upset about that.”

Earlier in the episode, it was revealed Leah had killed Marianne Tierney (Anna Anning) after discovering she was pregnant with Leah’s son Seb’s (Ben Wilson) baby.
Following Marianne’s car crash, shocking flashback scenes revealed Leah arrived at the scene of the crime and suffocated Marianne to death.
Before her own death, DI Lisa Donckers had been attempting to stop unhinged Leah from getting away by standing in the vehicle’s path.
Professor T was renewed for a fourth series in February.
The ensemble cast also includes Frances de la Tour, Andy Gathergood, Sarah Woodward and Sunetra Sarker.
