Coronation Street couple split after five years as huge betrayal is exposed

VIEWERS will soon watch the sad breakdown of a couple’s relationship on Coronation Street as lies are exposed.

Maria Connor has been with her husband Gary Windass for years but he finally makes a mistake she cannot come back from on one of next week’s episodes.

The pair have been having a rough time recently as their son Liam (Charlie Wrenshall) became suicidal after being severely bullied and even threatened with a knife

They clashed over whether to let him return to school once teenage terror Mason was locked up for his crimes.

Maria is determined to home school her son, and pointed out that Gary is not his biological father, which created tension between the couple.

Next week on Corrie Liam accidentally overdoses on Benzo pills and is left unconscious on the floor when he starts to have a panic attack and Gary is not home to help.

His mum is furious when she finds out there was no one looking after the boy, and blames Gary for the scare.

The man himself feels guilty because he was spending time with his ex Sarah Platt when he should have been at home with Liam.

Maria becomes suspicious after coming home one day to find Gary and Sarah together acting shifty.

She decides to head out again, but not before placing a camera in a secret corner and leaving it on to record the pair in case they do anything untoward.

Sure enough, she catches them on film sharing an inappropriate embrace.

Maria is even more hurt to hear Gary complaining about her to his ex, saying that she is being overprotective of Liam and it is ruining their relationship.

This is the final straw for the mum and she decides to split up with her husband, who is left devastated.

Will he be able to do anything to earn back her trust, or are things really over for the lovebirds?
